Benson Music Studios LLC offers singing voice rehabilitation, teacher mentorship, and voice lessons in musical theatre, popular, and contemporary styles. We serve local (Alabama) and online clients all over the world. We specialize in versatile vocal function, with stylistic applications spanning from opera to musical theatre to rock.
Voice Rehabilitation
Elizabeth offers singing voice rehabilitation to singers recovering from vocal injuries who are concurrently pursuing clinical voice therapy with an SLP (speech language pathologist) and want specialized support for their singing voice. A collaborative approach is ideal, where the singing teacher’s work compliments that of the clinical recovery team. The ideal clients for voice rehabilitation are amateur and professional singers who sing musical theatre, rock, contemporary worship, and other non-classical styles. No previous voice training is necessary.
Elizabeth holds a certification as a Voice Rehabilitation Specialist through Vocal Health Education (U.K.) and is a Recognized Vocologist through the Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA-RV).
Rates: Singing Voice Rehabilitation is customized for each client, but the average package is 8 one-hour sessions at $200/hr.
All sessions are offered online via Zoom.
Teacher Mentorship
Elizabeth offers customized teacher mentorship in 1:1 private sessions, with a specialization in musical theatre and pop/rock singing. The ideal client is the classically trained DMA who is now teaching musical theatre at the collegiate level. This was Elizabeth’s exact journey!
Early career: Help with job applications, annual reviews, progress toward tenure, and external reviews.
Anytime in your career: Watch you teach live (or review a recording), and offer verbal and/or written feedback.
A pluralistic and inclusive pedagogical approach is ideal; Elizabeth even wrote a book about it! The objective is to help you define and meet your specific goals for your teaching. Elizabeth pulls from a broad spectrum of research, training, and experience to tailor feedback in support of your goals.

Benson Music Studios LLC welcomes music theatre, pop, rock, folk, singer-songwriter, country, (and more) singers of all levels in an inclusive and positive atmosphere, with instruction tailored for each student.

Adult amateur singers of all levels and styles
Musical theatre singers age 14 and up
Lesson rates: Weekly students - $130 for 45 minutes. Drop-in students - $150 for 45 minutes.
Hybrid option: Part teacher training (pedagogy talk) and part learning to sing yourself - $200/hr.
